Useful resources, mostly from other people, mostly just the stuff I use myself.
- General Tools I Use
- Maps and Mapping
- Dyson Logos (dungeon, geomorph, and town maps.)
- Dave’s Mapper collects geomorphs from multiple sources, including my own.
- Donjon random dungeon generator
- Alex Schroeder’s Gridmapper, which I especially like to use for quick dungeon examples in blog posts
- mkhexgrid, a command-line tool for making hex sheets. Some people got more used out of the blank hex sheet with numbered hexes that I made with it, or modified the mkhexgrid hex sheet specfile I used,
- Monsters, Magic, Classes, and Races
- Links to Wisdom pretty much collects all of these you will need.
- D&D monster origins, for the curious.
- Monsters Sorted By Treasure Type, a no-frills list from the LBBs and supplements I wrote up a long time ago.
- Randomizing
- Logan Knight’s Choose Your Own Generator, for hacking together your own Javascript randomizers
- House Rules
- Trollsmyth’s Shields Shall Be Splintered!, one of the most popular shield house rules
- Sham’s restock roll, which I also use for first-time stocking
- Delta’s Target 20 mechanic, which simplifies attack rolls, saves, and skills
- Miscellaneous
- Anydice, for figuring out dice probabilities
- OSR Acronym/Glossary
- D&D Generations
- OD&D Forums
- Old School RPG Planet (only listing this here until I have a true blogroll page to put it on)
- Sham’s Empty Room Principle
