Tomorrow is the start of the A to Z Blogging Challenge. I've mentioned that all the non-geomorph posts for the month of April will be on a unified setting, but I've been coy about what that setting is.
'50s-style atomic-age horror.
I've dropped hints about my plans for an atomic-age horror game, compatible with Liber Zero. I hope the lack of commentary in the past was not because there is zero interest in an atomic-age horror RPG, because I'm about to get much more specific. Alien races to invade Earth. Other monsters, from space or from scientific mishap. Tech topics (rockets, ray guns.) Space and planetary environments. And a couple general discussions of themes.
Pretty much any of it will be adaptable to D&D and other games. I've already re-assigned my replacements for the mind flayer and beholder, intended for D&D or Liber Zero, to the "atomic" tag, to indicate they will be part of this new game, with only minor changes; expect the new monsters to look much like these, requiring only changes in fluff text to fit into medieval fantasy.
So, hopefully, D&D die-hards won't find the April posts completely useless.
I'll enjoy them, I'm sure!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a wild ride, and I'll be hanging on.
ReplyDeleteI for one welcome our new atomic-age alien overlords.
ReplyDeleteI loved the movies of that genre from the fifties and sixties. I look forward to seeing what you do.
