Dungeons and Firesigns

Peter Bergman of Firesign Theatre just died. He has nothing to do with D&D that I know of, although FT albums were among the many influences behind my attempts at surreal RPG designs. But I was just thinking that there might be some weird inspiration in FT for some gonzo D&D. Certainly the killer kudzu vines (and the cult that worships them) from Eat or Be Eaten would make a good scenario. Or how about a time travel device that causes its users to age? Or a "game" where someone injects his captives with a disease and challenges them to guess the disease in exchange for the antidote?

I may actually write up the kudzu vines, or a one-page encounter area based on them. I'll think about other FT inspirational material some more.

  1. The Further Adventures of Nick Danger would really mess your player's heads up something rotten.

My second thought was "He's no fun. He fell right over."
